After a short hiatus due to the 2016 Olympics, America’s Got Talent is back on television screens! From contortionists, to magicians, to acapella groups, the eleventh season truly has it all!

The Results

On August 23, twelve different acts performed, but only seven now remain. The following groups went straight through to the semi-finals: Brian Justin Crum, Grace VanderWaal, Blake Vogt, Kadan Bart Rockett, and Edgar.

Linkin’ Bridge and Malevo also advance to the next round due to the “Dunkin’ Save.”

Unfortunately, Vello Vaher, Alla and Daniel, The Passing Zone, Julia Scotti, and Ronee Martin all went home.

Michael Phelps

The night of the results also welcomed Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps! He talked about his retirement and how happy he is to spend time with his fiancée and son. He said that it was really special seeing his son in the crowd at the Olympics.

When Nick Cannon asked what motivates the swimmer, he replied that he hates losing. He adds that he started setting goals at the age of nine and his dream was to change the sport of swimming.

Nick also asked him to offer some advice to the contests. Michael said that it’s important to enjoy the entire experience and have fun!

Recycled Percussion

America’s Got Talent also welcomed alumni of the show, “Recycled Percussion.” The group competed in the fourth season of the show and came in third place. They rocked their performance and had all of the judges on their feet! Michael Phelps called the group “awesome.”

The following acts will be performing next week: Laura Bretan, Musicality, Tape Face, Sal Valentinetti, Grace VanderWaal, Blake Vogt, Jon Dorenbos, Lori Mae Hernandez, Deadly Games, and Edgar.
