Boxing: Gervonta Davis sparks speculation after deleting half-naked Mayweather post
American fighter Gervonta Davis has sparked fans into life by posting a half-naked photo of Floyd Mayweather before swiftly deleting it again.
The image was posted on Instagram on Sunday night but then it was very quickly deleted, not before many fans had managed to lay their eyes on it and start jumping to conclusions about the meaning.
They don't see eye to eye
The American starlet has had a rocky relationship with his Mayweather Promotions mentor since he first became a world champion in 2017.
Since then, there have been times where the pair have appeared together in public and there has not seemed to be any clear animosity.
There have also been times where it is clear that the two do not see eye to eye and they have been making that clear on social media and in the press.
Prior to Tank's last fight against Rolly Romero, he publicly announced that his contract was expiring and said he would be leaving Mayweather Promotions in the near future.
After his KO victory though, no such split happened and it appears Gervonta is still working with the company - which is headed up by CEO Leonard Ellerbe - to plan his next fight.
Now though, he has once again taken to social media to disrespect Floyd in a not-so-subtle fashion.
On Sunday night, he posted a series of images on Instagram, one of which being an image of Mayweather photoshopped to make it look as though he was not wearing any trousers.
The American is facing possible jail time over an alleged hit-and-run in November 2020 after a judge rejected a plea deal.
He had previously accepted an agreement which would have meant that he does not need to go to prison, but then this was turned down at a hearing. The trial is set for December.
