Hurley really prioritizes her mind, body, and soul when it comes to her health. She's been seen on social media at spas like one in India where she wrote on social media "small sun bathing break between meditations." "I like to think we're strengthening the brake pedals in our bodies. Our nervous system has a gas pedal and a brake pedal and we need both to drive safely. But we live in a society that has everyone pressing their gas pedal to the ground all the time. Even though you don't get your best mileage with your engine racing, we still do that," Roxanne Sukol, MD, MS, tells the Cleveland Clinic. Try this: "I would breathe in for five seconds and then breathe out for five seconds as a warm up," she says. "Then I repeated the cycle five times."
Elizabeth Hurley is living proof that you don't have to constantly be running or killing yourself at the gym to be hot over 50. You just have to prioritize being active. "I don't exercise," she said, "but I am very active."
It's important to maintain some kind of workout routine when traveling as much as the stars do. "I really try to bring my gym shoes and go out for a walk and see things," she said. "So here I'll walk around Central Park, I'll walk up and down the streets. You know, hotels have gyms — I don't usually use them."
She has an absolutely beautiful, dewy complexion that is noticeably admirable. Good diet and hydration has a lot to do with that. She mentioned that she starts her day with a couple glasses of warm water, and she has a skincare routine that keeps her healthy. "As you get older your skin gets drier and you have to use more moisturizer, more eye cream, more body cream, more elbow cream, everything!" she said. "I think moisture, moisture, moisture is the most important thing."
She's not just focused on the outside changes, but the inside. "We have to keep our hearts healthy, our lungs healthy, our organs healthy. And we need to eat well and we need to get plenty of sleep and we need to relax," she said. "Doctors say it is one of the most important things for our health to do all those things, so I try."
